Renewal

In my hometown of Waimea, we are graced with 60+ year old cherry trees located at Church Row. They are stunning, they are fleeting, blooming only for a few weeks, usually in the early Spring. Today I was driving around town, mind filled with typical end of the year thoughts. “What did I do well? What am I grateful for? What could I have done better?” and getting immediately caught up in the vicious cycle of planning for 2019. “What are my New Year’s resolutions? What am I am going to accomplish?” I looked to my left, and there they were, beautiful blossoms basking in the morning sunshine. What a great reminder for me, this last day of 2018. So instead of driving on to my next errand, I stopped. I took a breath. I took in the beauty of these trees and the significance of them.
