I saw a woman walking her dog this afternoon in the rain (or “liquid sunshine” as my grandmother used to call it). After a few minutes of idle chit chat, I pointed out the double rainbow behind her and said “isn’t it beautiful?” She shrugged and said “I wanted to get this walk out of the way before the rain started up again, so you’d better hurry too!” and off she went.

Did I hurry up? No. Did I curse the raindrops pelting my sunglasses? No. Instead, I spent the next hour chasing that rainbow. At times it went from a double to a single rainbow, at one point I saw it directly over a friend’s house!

What a great experience to chase a rainbow, to focus on something beautiful, to believe that there’s goodness around every corner, this rainbow kept me walking for a good hour!  It was a perfect reminder that you can’t have rainbows like this one without a little bit of rain.
